The Anniversary Ride took place on Saturday, October 22, and drew a record-breaking crowd of over 1,500 cyclists. The event kicked off at 9:00 am at Historic Fourth Ward Park with a festive atmosphere. Participants were greeted with live music, free giveaways, and plenty of enthusiasm. As the ride commenced, cyclists of all ages and abilities embarked on a scenic 19-mile journey along the BeltLine’s completed sections. The route showcased the project’s progress, from its vibrant streetcar trails to its lush greenways. Along the way, riders passed historic landmarks, vibrant neighborhoods, and breathtaking views of downtown Atlanta. They witnessed the transformative impact the BeltLine has had on the city, connecting communities and enhancing quality of life. The Anniversary Ride culminated with a celebratory gathering at Westside Park. Participants enjoyed music, food trucks, and a chance to reflect on the BeltLine’s journey and its vision for the future. “This 15th anniversary ride is a testament to the power of community collaboration,” said Clyde Higgs, Executive Director of the BeltLine Partnership. “The BeltLine has become a symbol of Atlanta’s resilience and its commitment to creating a more equitable, sustainable, and vibrant city.” Since its inception in 2007, the Atlanta BeltLine has made significant strides. Over 33 miles of trails have been completed, providing a safe and accessible corridor for walking, biking, and gathering. The project has also spurred economic development, creating jobs and attracting new businesses to the city. As the BeltLine continues to grow, plans are underway to extend the trail to a total length of 33 miles. The project is expected to have a profound impact on Atlanta, connecting neighborhoods, reducing traffic congestion, and promoting healthy living.
