The expansion project, which is expected to be completed by the end of 2023, will add approximately three acres to the existing park, creating a total of nine acres dedicated to dog play. The new space will include: * Separate play areas for small and large dogs: Ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for dogs of all sizes. * Agility course: Providing dogs with physical and mental challenges, promoting their coordination and obedience. * Walking trail: Offering a scenic path for dogs and their owners to enjoy the outdoors. * Additional seating and shade structures: Providing comfortable rest areas for dog owners and protection from the elements. * Improved drainage and irrigation: Enhancing park safety and minimizing muddy conditions during wet weather. The expansion project is a collaboration between the Knoxville Dog Park Association (KDPA), the City of Knoxville, and the local community.
